Ok, finally getting around to this post...

If you want a card from me, please leave a comment with your name/address. (Yes, comments are screened.)

I'm aiming for posting all international cards in the first few days of December, so if you're outside the UK, you'll need to comment before the end of the month or I can't guarantee you'll see the card before Christmas.

If you're in the UK then anyone up to about the 13th December should be okay :D
Still in the early stages of 'development', but already has enough rules that we'd have been sloshed this week...

Suggestions are more than welcome, and any I like will be added :)

So far...

These are all of the 'Full Storyline' edits. Some episode edits therefore don't actually have either of them in them at all, but there are storyline-relevant scenes.

The top file has brief plot notes for every edit. 'Bonus' edits are where they're seen together in the background of another scene.

Lots of links under the cut!! )

Enjoy! I'll be adding more links to this list as they air!

Alternatively, you can just go to the folder on megaupload where every episode has been filed: Christian/Syed Folder

Blanket!!

Aug. 5th, 2010 11:41 pm
As those of you on my twitter probably know, for the last week I have sort of fallen into the trap of crocheting a blanket.

No particular reason, really... I saw some wool and a crochet hook when I was looking for paint for my old bathroom, and... suddenly decided I wanted to make a blanket.

Anyway, a progress of my blanket, in pictures. Now that it's done.

...that I'm almost definitely sure is a bad idea, but hey... I keep seeing it on my flist. Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] electrictoes, originally...

1.) Go to my fanfic master list and pick out a line or two from one of my stories. (Must be a full line, please -- no sentence fragments or speech tags or other such nonsense.)

2.) I will respond with which story of mine I think it's from.

3.) A drabble to anyone who stumps me. If you do stump me, feel free to request a situation and characters.
I realised that I have quite a few people on my flist who are Doctor Who fans, many of whom don't watch my fandom journal or the small number of communities I have cross-posted these to before.

So, for those that haven't seen them but might like them...

Wallpapers and icons from episode 5x01 can be found here and here.
Those from episode 5x02 can be found here
From 5x03 here
and from 5x04 here

All are slightly spoilery for the episodes they come from. And I will most likely be posting more as each episode airs.
This isn't going to be as detailed as the one I started for Hub 2 - mostly because trying to do that level of detail meant I never finished it!

Before I get all of my proper notes on the weekend sorted out and ready to post, I thought I'd do the easy bit and post photoshoot pictures.

Photos from the talks and notes from my autos and talks will come soon, I promise!

Due to my immense confusion when ordering (had to do it on the phone due to disabled members of our party and the woman wasn't the most helpful), I have two(2) extra tickets to John Barrowman's concert at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on 7th October.

They're in row N of the flat floor (stalls) - row H is the front row, so these are only 6 rows from the front - and on an aisle. (Yeah, we're keeping the ones that are in the 2nd row...) These are significantly better than any pair now available from the venue/other agencies for this concert.

I would prefer to sell them as a pair, but if necessary will sell them individually.

I'm only asking the face price - £37.50 - I'll cover the booking fee/postage.

Happy to post them anywhere - I have the actual tickets already - or you can get them from me at the concert itself if you'd prefer.

Leave me a comment/PM me/whatever if you are interested.

UPDATE: These tickets have now been sold :)
Stolen from half my flist...

Step 1: Put your MP3 player on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 20 25 songs that play.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!

And yes I'm using all 7000+ songs on my laptop, so this could be RANDOM peoples!

Help Haiti

Jan. 15th, 2010 09:54 am
Like several others on my flist, I have put up an offer of fic-on-demand at the [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti auction. You can find my 'auction' thread here.

The people of Haiti really need our help, so you'll be helping those desperately in need and also getting something for yourself. What can be wrong with that?

NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month - aka 'write 50,000 words in 30 days' - aka 'ARGH AM I INSANE?'

And so we come to the end. I really didn't get a lot written today as I spent a lot of it catching up on TV from the weekend and reading the script I have of the film I'm using for my reel-tw fic. I do have a pretty good idea of where the rest of this fic is going now.

But I did do the important thing, and reached the target of 60k that I set for myself when I made it to 50k last week.

In the end, I had a great time over the month, and I discovered that I can write a heck of a lot more than I ever thought I could in a month! Until this month, a day where I wrote 600 words was a 'good' writing day. After doing this, well, I considered today a 'bad' day and I wrote over 1000.

I proved to myself that I could do it, and I WON! I haven't decided yet if the original fic will be edited and eventually posted or not - if it IS ever posted it will be on a limited filter on my flist.
As expected, I have written nothing the last 2 days. Left reeeeally early both mornings for Collectormania: London, got back very late Saturday after going straight from there to Avenue Q, and have just been having dinner with my sister etc this evening.

I can still write enough tomorrow to make 60k though.

And it was worth it for all the hugs I got in my photoshoots this weekend :)
NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month - aka 'write 50,000 words in 30 days' - aka 'ARGH AM I INSANE?'

Today was the end of a very long week, so I'm actually a little amazed I got as much writing done as I did even. And of course, STILL working out the actual plot details of reel_tw fic. Won't get any writing done whatsoever tomorrow, as am quite literally out all day. But should still be okay to meet my 60k-by-midnight-on-30th target :)

Word counts are what is given in MS Word - for some reason if I used the 'word count verifier' on the NaNo site I get more! (Currently makes a difference of nearly 400 words!)
NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month - aka 'write 50,000 words in 30 days' - aka 'ARGH AM I INSANE?'

Somehow I managed to waste a lot of time doing goodness knows what this evening, and didn't get nearly as much written as I'd like. Hence I'm counting the bit of time I wrote past midnight as being day 26, just to feel a bit better about my wordcount - I do usually stop writing at midnight, but...

I think I'd forgotten how much harder it is to write a lot of words in a day when I'm writing something that I DO actually intend people to read! Plus I'm still working out a lot of my plot for my reel_torchwood fic, deciding which bits of the movie to emulate and which bits to leave out altogether, etc...

Still, I wrote more than the daily target, so that's all okay in the end...

Writing went pretty well today, even with stress from work this morning and a tennis match to watch.

And literally just before midnight, I finished my original fic! It's all done - yes, I finally figured out an ending!

Rest of November will now just be working on my [livejournal.com profile] reel_torchwood fic! (Which yes is going to count towards my NaNo total, it's November still after all. But I feel justified in that my original novel IS over 50k on its own.)

I've been really stressed today by work, cos I have a huge presentation tomorrow morning, and I was pretty tired too - combined with the fact that I knew I had already reached the 50k, my brain wasn't really so motivated to write a lot today.

But on the plus side, I got a start made on my [livejournal.com profile] reel_torchwood fic, finally.
