*squeeeeeeeeeeee*

So, as some of you already know, I - along with many, many other John fans, including [livejournal.com profile] morbid_sparks and [livejournal.com profile] cazmalfoy - went to see John Barrowman's first night playing Albin in 'La Cage Aux Folles' last night.

Only three words can really be used in this situation:

Fantastic
Fantastic
Fantastic

The whole cast were absolutely amazing, John's dresses were brilliant, and he and Simon Burke (playing Georges) really seemed to work well together.

There were a couple of tiny moments where they messed up, but really tiny - although one of them did have John and Simon trying their very hardest not to crack up.

Oh, and Scott was sitting just a couple of rows behind us, *hee*. We absolutely did not turn around several times to look at him, absolutely no chance whatsoever.

So anyway, yes. Absolutely AMAZING. If I could have gone again tonight (oh to have the money) I would have. And tomorrow, and the next night. Yes really.

Whatever you have to do, just... go see it. You won't regret it.

We'd been told that there was a fair chance he might not come to the stage door afterwards, since it was the first night and they all had guests to entertain in the bar...

But - out he came. And for the first time in the various things I've been to of his, I actually managed to get my programme signed lol.

Took a few pictures - not easy as it was VERY crowded and my camera hates me and corrupted a couple.

This one went funny off my camera, but I've done my best to fix it in Photoshop.

Concentrating on how to write his name...

John turned his back as I was taking the photo. But check out Gavin's grin! *giggles*

My camera REALLY corrupted this one. So badly that I thought it was lost forever. And I thought it was just typical... But no! I found some recovery software and I got it back! (Although not at full res.) This was the photo where he just stopped signing for about 30 seconds and basically said 'Okay, everyone just take your photos now.' You can see where he hasn't quite taken off the mascara and lipstick yet :)

Gabriel Vick, who was playing Jean-Michele, the son.

Simon Burke, playing Georges. He was completely brilliant. And he asked for my name to sign my programme, which was just so sweet. And sang the 'Play School' song with 2 girls from Australia who remembered him from when they were kids. We (well, sparks and I did anyway) actually saw him in Costa about 50 minutes before the show started (we were grabbing something to eat and drink). He had the script out in front of him and was muttering under his breath...

To sum it up: FANTASTIC. GO SEE IT!

I certainly can't wait until next Friday when I see it again!
