And this time we (me, [livejournal.com profile] morbid_sparks and [livejournal.com profile] cazmalfoy) took [livejournal.com profile] angelzbabe1989 and [livejournal.com profile] kharma2815 with us!

We got down to London fairly early and after some chatting and a visit to Dress Circle to browse/buy stuff, and to Costa for some food and drink, we moseyed on down to the theatre in time for the matinee (which Caz actually ended up going to as she was there much earlier) coming out - went to the stage door (as you do) and saw both John and Simon there - the stage door crowd at the matinee was SCARY HUGE. Seriously. Neither of them wanted a brownie though, citing that they were about to go eat dinner. I did save myself £20 at CM:London though cos John happily signed my half-complete J/I photo that Gareth signed at Hub3.

Went off for food and chat (this time WITH Caz) at Costa again before going BACK to the theatre for the evening.

Show was fantastic as always - definitely some changes since the last time I saw it. Nothing major, just a collection of little things.

They had put the chairs the wrong way around for the Georges/Albin cafe scene after the interval which utterly confused John for a second or two to hang his parasol... then the ensuing scene had about 3 moments where they were both trying not to crack up. John's 'outrage' at 'Al' may have gone on a little long as he regained control...

Ooh, and we had surprise!parents - John's folks were there, a few rows back. I was going down to the bar to get water/diet coke during the interval and his dad was walking past the queue for the ladies saying 'Bet this is one of the few times you wish you were a man.' and 'Are they giving out drinks in there or something'.

We came out at the end, and it was raining - not heavily, but enough that it dissuaded a lot of people from waiting. It was stopping and starting, but it was enough that I didn't even attempt to get my camera out for pictures (hey, it's not like I don't have plenty already, right?)

Simon came out while it was still raining and was signing under a brolly, having a lot of trouble with keeping the Sharpies working when they got a tiny bit damp. He was still in fine form chatting to everyone and laughing as we (at the front) were doing a sort of conveying system of getting programmes from the back to him (with yelled out names, since he personalises).

The rain had stopped (temporarily) by the time John and his parents and surprise!Scott (who really didn't hang around long, hopping on a scooter and running away pretty quickly...). Got programme signed - in gold pen! Finally John has a pen that works on that black page of his in the programme!

Then we squeezed out, and took out the other surprise of the day - they had the concert DVD already at the theatre stalls, so I have now cancelled my Amazon order and got it there (John has pre-signed all the ones they're selling there). We very politely (at least I hope so, I think we were polite) went over to John Sr who was standing on his own by the car and asked if he'd sign the DVD covers 'because you two totally upstaged him at the concerts'. He agreed, and signed several people's DVD covers/books from both him and Marion. (He ran out of space on mine, so 'Barrowman' is just 'B'.)

One of us said him something about them being unusual in being a celeb's parents who might get recognised/asked for an autograph. His response was just lovely (he was just lovely in general!). 'They say that everyone gets fifteen minutes of fame - we're into our fourth hour!'

So all in all, a brilliant trip - with surprise!DVD, surprise!parents, surprise!Scott...

Only another 9 days until I go for my next (and final) time!
