NaNoWriMo 2009: Day 01

For the first time in several years, I'm actually attempting to write original fiction for this. I'll keep you updated daily as to how it's going!
Word counts are what is given in MS Word - for some reason if I used the 'word count verifier' on the NaNo site I get more!
