NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month - aka 'write 50,000 words in 30 days' - aka 'ARGH AM I INSANE?'

I WON! I WON I WON I WON!!

Yes, this post is ever so slightly delayed - decided to include first 30 minutes of day 23 in day 22 because I was SO close to finishing when it hit midnight. Also wrote more today than any other day this month!

I will still be posting updates daily - the story isn't finished yet, and I'm going to be starting on my reel_torchwood fic tomorrow now that I do have 50k of original fic.

But yay - I really never thought I would make it. Let alone with 8 days to spare.

Huge deadline coming up at work, so no chance to write there at the moment. And then it was (and still is!) Children in Need on the telly tonight, so I have been rather distracted. Didn't make 2k, but still made the 'daily pace' count, so not a complete failure. Better tomorrow, I hope!

Odd - but brilliant - day today. Didn't get anything written at all at work in my normal '10 minute dash at lunch' slot as was busy writing a presentation all day. Came home, still didn't write anything until about 7pm. And then it all just... went. Highest daily word count of the month so far! And less than 10k to go!

Today I knew I wouldn't get much written - left almost as soon as I got in from work to go back out to La Cage. Still wrote something, and am still well ahead, so it's not too bad, I guess.

Had a lazy morning, didn't write much, but then this afternoon and evening really went pretty well. Went well over 30k, which I'm very pleased about. Goal HAD been to get to 32k by tomorrow night, but hey, I might be ambitious and try for 35k (since 32k is such an easy target after today).

Had a bit of a panic when I got home from work today - I'd written several hundred words at lunch and it wouldn't let me download the email I'd sent them back to myself in! Eventually got it though, so panic over...

Much of this evening was taken up with baking my brownies for taking into work tomorrow - who ever came up with the tradition that on your birthday YOU have to take in treats for everyone
